Culture and catastrophe: an analysis of risk management in the Nicobar Islands after the tsunami

The project is to research the risk management of the inhabitants of the Nicobar Islands in connection with the tsunami that killed almost two thirds of the islands’ population on Boxing Day 2004. The research will focus on the interaction between governmental and commercial management and the local inhabitants’ risk management. The project is to generate knowledge about a population group on which there is largely no research.
